Actually, the process is the process for the company needs. I realize you want a Yes/no decision immediately but that is not always possible. As a recruiter, I always let the applicant know as soon as possible either way. When interviewing, we interview several for a position and some have completely ghosted us. We are actually in the same boat as the applicants, as far as ghosting. Also, some applicants have gone through the process, passed all the interviews and at the last minute totally drop off the face of the earth or call to say, I decided not to accept I have another position. That leave us, the company, scrambling to get someone else for the role. My point, it is difficult on both sides. I wish it wasn't this way too.
I just went through 2 rounds of interviews for 1 company 4 rounds for another. The recruiters and coordinators were all very helpful and responded very quickly throughout the process. I sent a follow up email and I got nothing but silence. Did I get ghosted? I had great interviews with both companies how long does it take before a decision is made?
Final Interviews: 5/22 and 5/27
