The reality is that there wasn't a business case to promote everyone. Not getting promoted, especially this year, is not something to be embarrassed by. It is an unfortunate reality of the current business cycle uncertainty that both our clients and we are facing. That doesn't make it better, but it is an honest assessment of where we are.

Seriously? It used to be 100% (minus one odd kid) promotion from staff 2 to senior in my years.

It was toughest year ever for our practice to get promoted. If you didn’t, please don’t get too down on yourself. It’s not solely based on your performance, it’s about market projections and they just aren’t looking great right now.
Are these January hires that didn’t get promoted or staff with the essentially full 2 years?
