How do Atlanta peeps like their Forensics practices? Trying to gauge which firm has the most interesting work

GT axed their forensics practice and everyone moved to BDO. Heard they are doing pretty well, though not sure about openings depending on work load. PWC’s practice is non-existent after layoffs and senior people leaving. Deloitte is hiring here for their strategy practice, just had a couple people in consulting go there.

like

EY2 glad to hear that! How long have you been there?

And potentially thinking of a transfer to Atlanta

The Global and US leader for Deloitte forensic sits in ATL but the team was very small the last time I checked. I think most of them are campus hires that got eventually promoted up. But check out firms outside Big4 too. I think GT, BDO, DHG, and Crowe have teams there too. They are getting work that’s just as interesting if not more.

Thanks! Certainly interested in hearing about all of the firms in Atlanta, not just big four

How’s the culture/work at FTI Forensic and litigation practice? Trying to see if it’s worth switching.

Hello everyone! What certifications do you think would be useful to a person who is a newcomer in the fraud and forensic industry. I want to boost my skill set and profile. Currently working as a due diligence, risk and compliance researcher at Kroll. I feel the research role is quite redundant without growth opportunities. Want to move into financial crime compliance. Will the CFE or CAMS be a good investment towards achieving this goal? My background is in law. Please advise.

Just got promoted to audit senior, but can’t imagine doing another busy season. I have some forensics internship experience from college and always wanted to pivot to forensics. It sounds like the firm is working mostly on COVID stuff these days, but I’m more interested in doing investigations work. If I transfer and have no choice but to work on insurance/claims, would it be better to stay in auditing? Is the insurance/claims work demanding/difficult intellectually wise?

For background, I’m 6 months into working at this firm and have touched a variety of cases.

I was wondering if the review course “CPE Self Study Course” for the CFF was enough preparation to study and pass the CFF exam. The CFE review course was enough and like if you get a question wrong it explains it well so that when it comes up in a different way in the real exam you can still get it. But when I saw the outline for the CFF material and there seems to be a lot of topics so I was wondering if the review course was sufficient considering this exam is also multiple choice. Thanks!
