Can someone give me some insight on the CAMS prep process and exam? Time frame, rigor etc?

The ACAMs study guide should be sufficient enough. If you want extra practice, aml-expert.com website gives you a free practice exam as well. Only thing to look out for is that some of the answers are not 100% correct. Prep time varies by the person but it took me around 2 months while working full time. If you go through the study guide enough times the exam itself isn’t really that difficult.

EY just did a 1.5 day in person class and then took the exam the next day. If you’ve done any mind numbing AML job at a banking client you’ll be golden

like

EY1 What group sponsored the class, where was it held, do they still offer it?

I pretty much used the study guide to pass the exam - all the questions and topics are in it. I spent about 3 months on and off (between case work) studying for it and passed on my first try. Definitely helps if you have AML and/or OFAC experience since a lot of questions are scenario - based and best practices.

I'm getting a MAcc to career change to forensic accounting. What opportunities are available to me with a data analytics heavy MAcc? I'm also tacking on 2 graduate certificates in Applied Statistics and International Economic Policy? For those in the field, would that be useful or not useful (i.e. waste of time)? I'm interested in investigations but also analytics, financial modeling, and expert witness services. Throw in salary potential for bonus points. I'll be getting my CPA, CFE, and CAMS.
