So- we run Dynamic Creative Optimization (DCO) for our clients display ads in a feed and corresponding google sheet via Google DoubleClick. My q is- does anyone know what systems out there allow for creating a template that will automatically pull a product image from say Target.com and automatically building the ad & copy without manually making 1000 ads via row for row in the google sheet? I know this is possible but curious if Sizmek or Flashtalking are more common in this type of creative development.

PMax is just the digital marketing version of CDOs from the 2008 real estate bubble. A bunch of garbage inventory repackaged and given a worthless stamp of approval so they can actually sell it.

I feel like they boosted it at launch so everyone would switch, we saw much better roas than standard shopping with it. Now it has died down a bit. One optimization that has helped, make sure you are using first party data lists in your asset group targeting, (e.g 1st party list of shoe purchasers in your shoe asset group), not just all Google ads converters across the board. Cleaning up the feed may also help if that’s a mess.
Tell your rep to added branded keywords as negatives and make sure you opt out of search partners.
But regardless is waste
They recently added the ability to block brand search in PMAx campaign settings. Had my team block brand searches last week.
Depends on your creative, your offer, and audience signals.
It’s also not ideal to expect it to run on par with search campaigns which don’t generate demand.
It should run along side it.
