Anyone here use a recruiter to help you find positions? If so, how did you go about finding one? I’ve noticed my current company uses a recruiting agency that already has candidates in mind that they can reach out to when we’re looking for fill roles and wonder if it would be beneficial for me to be on the other side so they could help me start finding other opportunities

I have found jobs using Robert Half as far back as 2004. I have gotten 6 jobs through them over 18 years, the last being the company I am with now. I'm currently using them to find a position near my home which we purchased at the beginning of this year. My current job is now 2 hours away and im using them to find a position closer to home. I've also used CFS for a temporary job and City Staffing as well. I've interviewed with Brilliant Staffing, and LaSalle Network. Sometimes, especially in hard economies like we are in now, staffing companies are your best bet.

Hello all! I am looking for a job in finance/investments, but I’m having trouble attracting attention from employers. I have a finance degree from UGA, but all of my experience (3.5 years) is in sales (tech and real estate), so no relevant internships unfortunately. Any advice on how to market myself better and where I should be looking would be greatly appreciated!

I'm in finance/tech FPA, looking to go back to the defense industry for a 25% increase in TC. But wanted to see if I should leverage the new salary with current company to see if they'll match.

Background: got a promotion at current company that didn't come with sufficient increase . After stating my case I was told it would be evaluated next October, which is what prompted the initial job search.

Current TC 103K [88/15], offer 125k base [+discretionary bonus].

I accepted a FADP offer but I have lifelong crippling anxiety It leads to (TMI) diarrhea, I can’t sleep at night, among a lot of other issues. I see a therapist and have their support in school accom. I appear high functioning and ever since uni went remote my life and performance has only improved. I know I’m capable of getting the work done and they must see potential if they hired me. But I feel that if I ask for WFH or other accom. I’m gonna be shooting myself and my career in the foot.

Need career advice. Trying to break into a finance role, preferably an Analsyt role but I have no transferable experience. I worked as a mortgage loan officer (which is sales) for 2 years after college, but since mortgage is such a niche industry, no hard skills transfer and have no relevant undergrad internships unfortunately. I know I can essentially get any sales job I want in finance IE: financial advisor etc. but don’t want to be stuck in sales forever. Any advice?

Currently working as a finance analyst II for a fortune 100 company in a corporate finance role. I'm looking for a job where I can utilize my soft skills more, whether that's in sales (tech or medical), consulting as a business development representative, or some sore of client relationship role for an investment bank. I have about 2 years of full-time experience. Any recommendations for exit ops?

Just found out that end of the year I will be promoted from analyst directly to VP and since it’s such a large jump I’ll be the lowest paid VP in asset management at only $135k TC. Should I stay it out and wait for TC to align or take the promotion and jump ship bc I will likely get paid more elsewhere given how recruiters/other companies eat up hiring recently promoted ppl from other firms?
