Morale is pretty positive, despite the quirkiness on this app, a ton of really smart people that get shit done
I'll second the awesome moral. I am not one to drink the kool-aid but we really do have some of the best people. I know there are a ton of clients and projects in NY but not really anything more than that. Ask HR to set you up with someone at what would be your home office at the level you're coming in as. They'll tell you straight
I'm very satisfied with the experience. I've met very smart, social people. Most of the people I started with 3 years ago are still with the firm because of there is a sense of belonging here
Travel? If you are in Ny, are most clients in NY?
My last project was a capital markets strategy project so I have some insights. It's a niche group within Accenture Strategy. Less than 10 people nationwide aligned to it from MD all the way down to consultant. Not surprisingly, the group also plays to Accenture's overarching strengths aka tech, BPO, and SI. Very rarely is the group doing non-tech related strategy for capital markets. A lot of the work will be related to firms that want to outsource, implement a new delivery process, or general system implementation. It goes without saying that this is also strategy work when you do the initial designs and modeling, and you will rarely be pulled into the actual implementation. But once again, it'll be rare to be involved with the firm's actual business strategy beyond the tech or cto circle.
Thanks. What is Si? Software implementation?
System implementation. With that said, our work in the area is growing simply because in the current market, these cap market firms are looking at every angle to cut costs and one of the easiest things to do for that is outsource.
Thanks for the insight. I imagine all the clients are banks in NY? I am exploring this team, but am not a fan of intense travel.
In or around NYC. Payments (Visa, Amex, MasterCard, etc.) are also considered to be part of capital markets and most of those firms are around NYC. There are also the operations centers for a lot of big companies and they usually are not in the tri-state area. Soooo it depends!
Ok what about broader strategy group at Accenture? Can you get hired into broader strategy, which is cross-sector, as opposed to sector-specific? I think I would rather focus on that, than operations centers for banks😝
I've strategy and been working for 2 and a half years on local engagements. Wanted to travel but there's a lot of local demand for FS
What kind of strategy projects are you working on in broader FS strategy?
What's capital markets strategy? Sorry I'm in technology
