Hey folks
I got a call from TCS to interview for a new unit formed within org with the name of Business Transformation Group as per new org restructuring. Anyone from TCS who can help to understand more about this?
Does it cater to only niche technologies or how does this actually function?

After calling, send this email:
As a follow-up to our conversation, please accept this email as my formal notice of my resignation from my position at FIRM. My last day of employment will be DATE, two weeks from today.
It has been an honor to learn from you and to work at FIRM. I cherish the bonds I have formed and hope to stay in touch. By working at FIRM, I have learned so much about what it means to be a great attorney and will carry forward the same level of commitment and integrity FIRM lawyers devote to their clients, community, and co-workers.
I will remain available to facilitate the transition of my matters as well as conclude all pending assignments over the next two weeks. Please let me know if there’s anything else I can or need to do on my end.
I can’t tell if this email is sarcastic ..
Do not leave it open to negotiation. "I have accepted an offer to join X firm/company"
Thank them for everything. If they ask why, speak only about the new opportunity. Don't neg the current firm.
Some partners react poorly when getting notice, especially in a busy group. They usually come to terms in a day or two.
Just send an all firm email that says "UNSUBSCRIBE"

“Later, nerds”
I do not say where I’m going if to a competitor.
I’ve done it twice as a partner in the past 15 years. First time I said I was going and firm didn’t learn that I was going to another law firm until a week after I left. With second firm I said I was going to a non BigLaw firm to ease the firm’s angst during my 2-week notice period. I wanted to announce my move to the new firm in my own way and not have old firm taking defensive steps before then. I only told clients to the extent necessary until I moved. It was holiday period so there were few active matters. It worked very well.
You happen to have come across a great opportunity for the next step in your career and you are sooooo thankful for what your current employer has done to prepare you for this. You hope you will be able to work together in the future and will of course do anything possible to make the transition as smooth as possible.
Also - ask them how they want to break the news internally or to clients.
If you want to leave on good terms, focus on the pull factors of the new firm, not the push factors causing you to leave. Be classy even if they aren’t; it’s a small world.

Thanks for sharing!
Think you’re overthinking this mate
I gave notice over phone calls (because everyone is still wfh) and it went surprisingly well. I did write down what I was going to say in case I get nervous. People were sad and disappointed to hear me leave, but almost everyone was very supportive of my decision and wished me luck even though I was going to a competitor. Some partners even said do not feel embarrassed about coming back if I do not find the new place to be a good fit.
Do not share any negative reasons for leaving the firm and thank the person you are calling. It is a small world and people will react nicely since you might eventually work together again or become their clients even if you’re lateraling to another firm.
Make sure to formally submit your resignation letter to the head of HR in your office, and ensure that the effective date is at least 2 weeks out from the date of sending. I’d recommend calling partners you care about before seeing the letter (or telling them in person if your office is not remote right now). Once HR receives your letter, they will usually send out a formal departure notice to partners. You don’t want that to be the first notice to the people you care about.

Shoot me a DM. I have a roadmap I can send you.

Why do ppl do this over the phone? Seems like it would be very awkward. I’d probably email.
Yeah, the social anxiety is worth keeping those connections in tact. 😀
