No to the salary or to knowing?
Why would big 4 exits be better?
No
Exiting as a C2 right now and I think $300k is a stretch. Top C2 roles I'm seeing are ~$210k and probably overlap with PL roles. Charles Aris report suggests ~15-20% bump but is skewed by Big4 exits at the same tenure.
@BCG4, what are you exiting to? I'm up for EM soon (McK equivalent of PL), and have thought about leaving the firm. Any tips?
I think it was in reference to the skewing of the recruitment data^
Haven't decided yet. To a point about the math, the exits are similar but since they have different pay at their current firms it skews the percent jump. If a BCG consultant making $180k takes an industry job at $200k it's like a 10% jump. If a Big 4 consultant with the same tenure making $160k takes the same job, it's a 25% jump. I believe Charles Aris did a simple average of % increase.
No
Not realistic range
Ask our Career Services team.
That's what they so.
Maybe realistic if you're thinking all-in for a high cost of living city for a more experienced PL. Assuming pretty comparable role to our Manager. But yah, a likely stretch.
What is reasonable then? Is 200 average or on low end?
This information is pretty readily available... have you looked at the Charles Aris report? Talked to career services?
BCG4 are the Big4 exits better than MBB exits?
Sf tech seems to appreciate having some executionally experience, but I think that's not the case elsewhere
@McK I'm looking to stay in DC which constrains options a lot. Looking at some FI and some Tech, aiming for ~$180 all in. Top opportunity I'm looking at is low 200s, worst are closer to 150k.
