McAdorey is the best HOP if you’re in the Central region. Great dude. Knows his stuff.
It’s a cluster and we are demanded to work with OMC Studios - you have to fill out an opt out form if you don’t award to them which triggers the higher ups at OP and can look bad on you / your HOP - but there’s are clients and cost consultants who forbid it. But BA cannot issue a PO to vendors without the opt out form.
Mac is great. V supportive and has a disarming, logical and pragmatic approach. As an operation, the corp is a mess. It’s an “agency” not a “production company” so acting as a production company when it comes to practice is pretty far fetched and convoluted.
I’m coming from the ipg merger, as you do. Just got started on my 1st job with the broader omc team, and it’s really been great! The people I got to meet and im working with are super nice and so talented! And it’s also fun to start working with different brands other than the ones we were used to. I’m excited for the upcoming year, I feel like there’s still a lot to figure out, but I’m expecting to broaden up my horizons. Only thing that really makes me suffer is mcsft teams though. Whyyyyy 😭
Also in the West. Im freelance so really can only look at it one booking at a time. Survived the initial acquisition but I think there will be more carnage end of 1st quarter. Regardless the clients I work on are TBWA Chiat and the teams also there, meaning so far no change. Everyone is great to work with. They hired me fully remotely and no mention of RTO. We will see… I agree though the whole mega holdco is gross and I just need to cover bills for now.
lmao i do — ngl it’s sort of a mess atm but like P1 said it’s dependent on region. in my experience it’s pretty disorganized but that sometimes allows for a little more flexibility which can be fun. i’ve worked here several years (was formerly in an agency that became a large portion of OP as it was created) and am happy to answer anything i can!
same here!! i’ll dm u if that’s ok!
Get the F out of there as soon as you can. Until then, play the bullshit political games. Show your value. Continue to do what’s right for the project, not just the holdco.
Any more insight? Do you currently work at OP? Why should I make my exit?
The lady who failed forward to become CEO of North America is from Critical Mass.
Good luck to all involved.
what's the tea on alissa?
I had the same worries- but which region are you in?
Central

I don’t know what it’s like to work there, but all the agencies that were folded into Omincom, I would say working on ideas from BBDO, TBWA, DDB, FCB etc is a good opportunity for producers to make some good work.
That’s all fine. But what about career growth? What’s that like here?
The Department of Justice doesn’t seem eager to go after holding companies for bid rigging like they were a few years ago, so Omnicom’s recent growing tendency to bid themselves against independent production companies, with or without the other bidders’ knowledge, is simply ethically messy for anyone working there, but probably not criminally so. Probably.
Gross. It's important to remember we all have our personal reputations and relationships to keep. It's tough, but we need to stand firm and not give in to shady practices like that. And I'm not trying to get called to the witness stand when they get sued... nothing about this company says they'd have our backs.
You will most likely lose your job soon enough, so no need to worry about that. It’s the sad reality, 4,000 jobs are being eliminated.

That 4,000 number was worldwide, not just in the US.
