Applied for Senior Engineer and Manager positions at EY GDS (YoE-8, GenAI/Cloud-Azure). Got selected and interviewed for the Manager role two days ago. Portal now shows Senior Engineer as "Hired more qualified candidate" but Manager is still at "Interview stage with Hiring Manager." HR then called asking if I'd be comfortable with the Senior Engineer position despite having interviewed for Manager.
Is this a downgrade offer or standard process? How long does HR typically take to revert?
