I aim for clarity over pressure, so I set high but realistic goals and check in often. Mistakes happen, so I always look at patterns instead of one-offs. I only document if it keeps happening or affects others. Most of the time, a direct conversation and support work better than formal steps.

you sound like a great manager
It varies employee to employee if you ask me. Some team members are more driven, some more sensitive, and others simply content... I know who is making mistakes out of sheer laziness and who is trying their best. I take an individualized approach but have to be careful doing that as well to ensure it doesn't come off as favoritism.
