At my job, there are times when we need support from management. There’s a manager who tends to jump in quickly with her own opinions instead of fully listening. Whenever I go to her with a question, she often interrupts and starts sharing her perspective right away. Sometimes I end up trusting my own judgment, and things still turn out fine. I just feel that help is most useful when it starts with really listening. What do you think?

That honestly drives me nuts. I hate when someone listens to answer and not to actually solve the problem. I agree with you though. You have to listen to actually understand everything fully before speaking.

Exactly. It totally seems useless to even talk to her. My manager makes me confused all the time whenever she gives me solution to a problem that never makes any sense.

I have a manager like that, and I really wish she would just slow down and listen sometimes...

Exactly! I have learned one thing while working in my department that do not rely on management for answers and use your own brain to figure things out.

I recently accepted an offer and have onboarding coming up. Any idea how busy I’ll be in the evenings for those couple of days? The calendar invite only goes until 4pm but I wasn’t sure if there’s any additional events that go on.
