Egg retrieval is what really matters- did that at 37. Have until 50 (not that I am waiting thar long) to do all transfers. Will have my first at 40 after a couple of fails. I waited a year in between each FET - so could have been much sooner had I done back to back attempts. 40 is not too late but get going.
There are definitely success stories at 40 ✨ wishing you the best OP!
You're not too old! I started IVF at 41and had success at 42. I started with one clinic but left after several 4 failed attempts. I then found the best doctor in my state. I started IVF with him at 42... and got pregnant after the FIRST round with our own egg/sperm. I now have a healthy and beautiful 7 month old at 43.
**Tip: Take 5000iu Vitamin D daily! Find a doctor who leads a lot of fertility research. I could tell my 2nd doctor and his staff had a lot of experience and knew what they were doing. We used PGT for the 4 failed attempts and chose NOT to do PGT testing in the successful round. I decided it was too much handling/ruining of my delicate and few eggs. My doctor agreed and was also a skeptic of all the PGT testing being pushed in the industry and shared some research about it. Google it. Your clinic's lab is also so important. All clinics do not have the expertise to biopsy/freeze/unthaw your delicate embryo...this is another reason to seek out a doctor and clinic that does a lot of research, perhaps with a local university. All the best to you!!
Two egg retrievals at 38, one additional retrieval at 39, all with the intention of fertility preservation. Thawed all the eggs, fertilized them with donor sperm, and did one transfer that was successful (yay!) at 40. Had my daughter at 41. Am currently 42 with a 7 month old. There is definitely hope in your 40s.
Had egg retrieval at 38, transferred at 38, gave birth right before hitting 39 cuz baby came early. 1 cycle gave me 1 embryo who is now a 1 year old girl.
I’m about to turn 37 and wishing I skipped the 1 year wait at 35, and failed IUI attempts at 36.
Following I am 39 and also wondering if it’s too late :(
Did egg retrieval at 36, they’re still in storage turning 38 this year trying the normal letrozole route first if that doesn’t work in 6months will then do ivf with the eggs that were retrieved at 36
