I was also put on synthroid starting at a higher than preferred level that was discovered at the beginning of my infertility journey. AFAIK it will be for life for me just to keep levels in check (which made me very distraught as someone who never had health issues and then suddenly miscarriages and thyroid stuff in one) but it's the most non disruptive drug I've ever taken. Im sure it pales in comparison to every ivf drug.
I got put on synthroid for IUI and IVF. I looked into it with my regular physician and apparently you can have thyroid levels in the normal range but considered too high for fertility purposes. That’s me- if we hadn’t been doing IVF, my levels would not have prompted any medication.
Thank you! I just looked up “normal” levels and you’re right - it looks like the standards are different for fertility purposes.

I have Hashimotos and am on synthroid and as someone else commented, it is a pretty non-disruptive medicine (other than I have to wait to drink coffee in the morning). I have no side effects at all and it does it’s job!
I took it for fertility and through each of my pregnancies. My levels balanced back out post-partum and don't take the drugs long term. This is common if you start in the normal range pre-pregnancy.

My gyn (not fertility doc) told me nearly every woman she knows takes synthroid and she takes it herself. I'm on it!
I am too! As are my aunt, grandmother, and 2 female cousins. Basically every female in my family but my mother.
