Not that you shouldn't budget, but make sure you don't think about the costs too much. This is the best thing that will ever happen to you.
Assume 5-6 diapers/day. Price the biggest box on Amazon subscribe and save, and do the math.
Amazon may not always be cheapest, but big value in having them show up on your doorstep every month. Between work and family, time saved not worrying about finding the best deal every week is well worth it in the long run.
If you’re thinking what’s my total 💩 budget, factor your brand choice, which btw, won’t be your choice. Momma and baby decide between her preference and baby’s skin. Three cost categories for disposables: diapes, wipes and butt cream. They gonna get that rash and when they do, $ is no object. Go ahead try the cheaper ones or save everyone the ass pain (*intended) and get the Butt Paste in the red tube. It’s like $12 but totally worth it. Don’t skimp on it either, lather liberally when applying. For diapes wipes, the more I paid in Pampers sensitive wipes, less Boudreaux’s paste I bought. Some of my infants needed the sensitive diapers to match for the first few months then we got em to some less pricey pampers or luvs. For us it was just easier to get a brand that we knew never leaked without cause, which was pampers. Amazon sub$sav was affordable enough, maybe not the best in town but we never ran out and that’s half the damn battle right there. We had 3 boys ~18mos apart each. Last one is in pull ups now. Pay the money, change em often, newborns do 10-12/day once they get rolling sometimes you get lucky with only 6-8 but I’m not very lucky.
Have fun, enjoy, no one rational ever went bankrupt over 💩 expenses.
Each baby is different but we go through 8-10 per day
~$50/month if pampers. Can be cheaper if you go with other brands.
Thanks for the answers!
D1 did you do the math on amazon vs target and aldi? I pay 10c per diaper at aldi. Curious if subscribe and save is cheaper than that
50 per month for diapers and 15 for soft wipes
Keep an eye on sales at Target, they do a lot of buy X amount of baby stuff, get a gift card. Stock up on diapers and wipes and so forth that don't go bad.
