Hyatt is the best imo; I only stick with Marriott first bc of they have quantity. Hyatt has better redemptions, nicer properties and recognizes status a lot better
I must’ve missed the news; I’ll look into it bc these devaluations definitely affect . Thought McKinsey was just feeding into the debate (doing McK things lol) I’ll accept I misunderstood their comment. That’s my bad. Not upset for a different perspective but it seems you’re accepting your perspective as gospel when I was just replying to OP’s questions with my experience. Different experiences are okay; your last sentence only proves you’re just here to provoke
Hyatt followed by IHG but their footprints are a lot smaller so it depends where you are staying.
No no no. Stick with Marriott. They have better properties. Go to corporate wasteland hotels for vacation it’s great. Don’t do Hyatt. Marriott A+++++.
Hyatt is the only one worth getting status with. I’m Marriott lifetime plat but only use them for Fairfield inns in small cities that are cheap for redemptions at this point
Rising Star
I like Hyatt for Chase/Bilt redemptions. Otherwise I'm a free agent and just book the best medium level hotel in the area. Often that is a local one with good reviews.
This is the best take imo; once you hit a certain income level the benefits of status are just diminishing returns when another locally owned hotel can be a lot more amazing for a comparable price !
I’d stick with Marriott - FWIW, the power of points and status seems to be decreasing across the board
It really depends where you want to redeem.
