Anyone successfully use the $200 Amex hotel credit? The FHR and hotel collection redemptions are all pretty insane price wise. I’ve heard there are some good deals to be had in Vegas but looking for other options.

Through this weekend they have a lot of FHR properties that are doing stay 2 nights get the third free, so if you get that offer coupled with the $200 back it turns into a great deal.

like

Amazing thanks

Used it a few weeks ago at the Thompson Hotel in Dallas. Usually ~$250 a night. Several Dallas FHR can be had for that price.

like

Yeah I used it paired with the 2020 covid bonus. Emptied my points for a ridiculous hotel on my honeymoon. Paid for almost half a night. Well worth it.

like

Yea the cheapest option <$200 i can find is in Vegas for one night Sunday-Thursday. But note that the resort fee cannot be covered ($45ish) by the credit

like

Also there are a lot more options <$200 outside of the US

like

Book- wait for credit- cancel- get banned from
Amex ;)

Just used it in Hawaii, paired it with a $350 property credit Amex was offering on bookings through the portal. Upgraded to oceanfront room, free breakfast and all that stuff, and they waived the resort fee because Amex Plat holders don't pay for WiFi and that's part of the resort fee. Considering Bonvoy also is giving points for their FHR properties booked thru Amex, my Luxury Collection hotel was a better deal than many others on the island.

like

In other words, with the FHR benefit, it's not just the $200 credit - the other benefits that came with it made it overall a better experience and value than some cheaper hotels.

Hi,

I am about to join Tata Consultancy Pune.

Initially, it was mentioned virtual onboarding and now changed into physical presence.

They denied the travel and accommodation allowance.

I tried to contact the Onboarding Manager and buddy by mail but I did not get a response.

Can someone tell me what the actual allocation policy is?

Does anyone utilize the personalized planning and advice (PPA) service from fidelity? I used a managed care service at vanguard and it was helpful and I saw huge benefits in return and when my employer switched us over to fidelity this year, I signed up for the same “managed care” service called PPA and this year so far I’ve lost $. I don’t know if this is normal but shouldn’t a managed care service be taking care of me and bringing me returns on investments instead of losing my money?

Does anyone happen to know the PwC discount codes for Hilton and Marriott hotels...asking for a friend

We spoke to 200+ talents at Big tech (FAANMGS) and we were shocked about what we learned. Contrary to what people think; the product engineering folks are not that busy. They basically work about 20hrs a week. Meanwhile, the early-stage fast-growing Startups we are speaking with are desperate to work with Silicon Valley FAANG experts to help them build better, and launch faster.

Are there founders out here who are looking to talk to us?

Newbie here! Looking for a CANADIAN credit card recommendation. Work provides Amex green for hotels and meals - flights and Ubers are paid directly by McK. I have a personal Brim MasterCard for the 0 exchange fees and a CIBC Aventura which offers minimal points. My main expenses are food and transportation, I rarely spend more than $1k per month, and I would ideally like a lower annual fee because I don't think I'll spend enough to recoup the cost of a higher fee. I'm signed up for Aeroplan.
