Awhile back I had some colleagues that used some cheap China properties- were like $20 a night in weekends and the hotel just checked them in remotely after they spoke to the manager. Not sure if you could find something like that or a residence in or something in the middle of Kansas.

like

Wow never thought to check international, but def had this same thought especially when you can check-in from your phone and go key less

Seems like a weekend or holiday staycation would be more enjoyable than thinking about the logistics of this unlikely trick. Or a little vacation for your family booked under your points.

like

What benefit are you getting out of titanium that you don't get with Platinum? There is no ability to get lifetime titanium so I mostly doesn't make sense. I mean if you can do the Chinese mattress run like someone highlighted before, maybe it makes sense. I can't see any property domestically doing this because it will need to go into the system and it's pretty rigid here.

like

Lifetime titanium was grandfathered to those who were SPG lifetime Platinum at the time of the merger. As SC1 said, it's no longer attainable.

like

If you’re going to spend the points to redeem the room anyways, why not do a staycation or could you offer the free stay to a family or friend as a gift?

Just remember to do your benefit selections!! I️ forgot this year and ended up with 12 suite reward requests and 0 free reward nights

where are you located? book a 6 night stay at a springhill or whatever, go check in, mess up the bed and towels, put out do not disturb sign, and leave. you may also be able to get away with it if the hotel offers mobile check-in - not sure the housekeeper would report whether it seems that the room is empty

1. No 2. Check the category list 3. It depends, but mostly no

Is this including the 5 nights you could get for 50 night benefit?

Already accounted for. Good call out tho

search for category 1 hotels in your area, then search availability by month. I've snagged a few nights at 4.5k - 5k per night

With Hilton you can check in and out on the app… they don’t actually know if you used the room 🤷‍♀️

Do you already have both the personal and business version of the Bonvoy credit card? Each come with 15 elite night credit. And if you already have titanium now, it’s just been extended another year.

TY. I suppose this thread can be closed. glad I never booked those 6 nights in china!!
