Has anyone signed a contract to work for X amount of years with the government and then broken that contract? Are there repercussions? 1:1 with my boss, one of the areas of improvement was: “be more vocal”.

Being an immigrant who struggles a lot with the language barrier is just super hard to digest this. I do my best, he doesn’t know how hard is keeping a Google Translate tab open on my browser all day long, he doesn’t know when people look to you because you sound “funny”. Just wanted to vent it, and say for all the leaders out there, if you want us to be more vocal, give us a chance to be heard with our own voice and truth

I’m struggling. I left an agency I liked last year due to growth limitations and since then I’ve worked at 2 different agencies and can’t seem to find my footing. The first one seemed like a good fit at first but then it turned out to not be the best place for me so I left. At my current agency I feel super undervalued. I’m always raising my hand and offering to help where I can and no matter what I do, I don’t feel utilized or valued or part of the team.It’s really taken a toll on my confidence

Turned down a gig at Apple two years ago because I saw a lot of growth opportunities at my current company and saw the position as a step back (even though it was more money) and have regretted it ever since. Still in the same exact position at the same company I was then btw. Bad choice.
