Behavior gateway is Yes, but they have rated me as offtrack, saying i am new joiner and due to bellcurve they need to adjust people in all ratings. Is this normal practice in HSBC ?? I have been told this is not due to my performance but just to adjust the team across ratings. What is impact of getting a offtrack here??

The default rating for new joiners is Performing, our team new joiner got performing by default.
Yes new joiners would be performing only.
Same happened with me too when I joined in mid 2024. I was in tremendous shock and pain for year due to this. When your manager is spineless please expect this as normal in HSBC. Though your job is safe but don’t stay here for long term as this rating is like a black spot in your career in HSBC.
Those who are still watching this thread, I’ve left HSBC finally.

There is no official bell curve but it is followed. Your manager might have rated you as 'Performing' but in the larger team/ department ~10% of the resources will be rated as 'offtrack' and hence your rating might have been updated. New joinee is just a pretext for rating people as offtrack.
Time and again, this is being told ... If u r interested for getting good monitory growth, pls absolutely avoid HSBC.. Rather if u r just up for settling or retiring somewhere, then HSBC is gold.

This is another myth about HSBC. It’s not safe for the average performers.
I aslo joined mid year in June and i contributed lots to the project more than others team members but still I got offtrack.
Make sure to capture that in your comments/ emails.
