They are still saving compared to NY.
I’m reverse migrating out of this state when my lease expires back to the midwest due to the rising cost of living. I like it here, but for what I pay for a studio i can get a 3 bedroom 2 bath in Chicafo.

Saving 28%. Against a COL increase of 54%. The question is whether remote salaries can stay as high as they are. Historically Miami has not *created* high wage jobs.

Lol, not going back to NY. A comparable apartment in NY will cost twice more than what I pay now and the savings from not having to pay state + city tax equal to 3 solid international trips for me.
Would I consider better deal cities? Yes. NY? absolutely not. There is a cost of living calculator out there where you see how far or little your income goes compared to your current city. Miami is not bad.
