Our Philadelphia-area boutique firm whose practice works exclusively with nonprofits and charities is hiring due to growth. Tax is the basis of Exempt Org work. That is why I am posting here. Great practice working to further charitable missions of our clients. Good WLB (1300 hour billable requirement). Opportunity for the right person to work remotely. If you could share salaries that would be great too. I was low-balled by EY (asked me to take a 80k pay cut from midlaw)—wondering what the standard is
EY didn’t have the same business development demands as biglaw, which I found to be a tough adjustment when I left. Overall I’d say I made significantly less money for just a modestly lower amount of work. This was 5+ years ago and I was a 3rd year, but I went from right around $80k to over $150k.
I left Big Law to Big 4, but in a WNTS role 20 years ago. Pay cut was 25%, but I did have a better quality of life. I have friends who went from IRS to Big 4 controversy, but found themselves limited because not a lot of recurring revenue to make a decent partner case. They’ve mostly left for mid or Big Law.
Yep the door from IRS to WNTS IRS is wide open. And from WNTS IRS to biglaw. Not many people go from big law to WNTS due to the much lower pay.
