You've basically summed up my job hunting experience. Months and months of searching, hardly ever hearing back, only getting rejections if I do. You're spot on - things are completely different than they were 5 years ago. I've never struggled so much just to get interviews.
That said, we all know the phrase “when it rains it pours” so I wouldn’t be surprised if you hear back from all 4 to 5 positions at the same time.
Thanks, that’s what I need to hear. 😊
Under consideration is a standard status in workday, I wouldn’t expect much unless you get a recruiter screening. You need to keep applying.
My rule of thumb is that if I haven't heard back within the first 2 weeks, I'm not being considered. There's been 1 or 2 exceptions to this in the 100+ data points I have, but those were within the first 4 weeks.
I am passing all the good vibes on to you. Hang in there. The job market is really rough right now. I have been looking for 8 months and haven't been able to find something either. Hang in there.
My experience has always been job hunting and applications and hearing back and the interview process takes longer than I would like it to as the person looking for the job. Personally, it doesn’t feel like things are going slower than normal.

My process has been to check in to the status weekly for a month, then close it off in my tracker. I'm not going to waste my energy on wondering about the "maybe"s. Since I started shifting my mindset and giving them a quantitative "due date" for lack of a better term, I started feeling less and less frustrated with the job search process.
I’m not sure what’s up with recruiting these days. I came across an email address on the applicant site and asked them if they could provide me an update after 3 weeks of not hearing anything. They replied saying it takes time because they review every applicant. I waited another week and said I appreciate the time they spend reviewing applications. Then just ended the email saying I’m still interested and mentioned a couple highlights on how my skills align with the role. An hour later they emailed me an invite for a phone screening. The first one I’ve gotten in 2 months of applying. Just shows you have to be persistent.
