Maybe spend less time worrying about what others may or may not be feeling. Then support others when they are on the right track to make up for any of that resentment. At the end of the day, you're just doing your job!
I'm asked to pitch in to help other teams with ideas every so often. If it's my account, I'm choosing the teams and I also choose whether or not to participate myself. If it's my team, I don't worry if the idea is mine or from someone on my team. A good idea can come from anywhere and there's no way a junior would have an idea that makes it very far without some sort of input from me, and that's expected -- it's my job to help the work along. I welcome anyone to tell me they don't "get" an idea I had, and I've definitely had people poke holes at my work. I'm fine with letting it go if it doesn't hold up.
If I'm helping another team, I don't worry about "competing" with others because I'm generally not asked to help in round 1. What moves forward isn't my decision so it's not like I'm picking my idea over anyone else's, and if nothing of mine makes it through, that's fine. If it does, I don't get the sense that there's resentment because they needed the extra ideas.
All the time. The more senior you are, the more solving problems is your responsibility. So if they need someone to write banner copy or come up a campaign idea or whatever, that’s what I do.
This is it. I don't have to get my hands dirty often, but when I do, it's because it's the eleventh hour, the work hasn't quite hit the mark yet and it's my job to make sure it does.
