Racist democrats force minorities to wait in line for hours to vote in Los Angeles.

Turn out was 20%
C1 - I don’t think LA is the right comparison here. LA is being blamed on equipment failures leading to slow voting/closures, rather than lack of voting places to begin with.

Harris County is being blamed on equipment failures plus a turnout 40% higher than 4 years ago, which is about a 75% increase over 4 years before that.
Voter turnout in this area has been trending lower for a long time. It came rushing back this year.
The article mentions long lines in Harris county and even mentions that Harris county head of elections is a Democrat. Yet somehow this is the GOPs fault. The proof that it’s GOP fault offered I’m the article? Well a Democratic Party spokesman said it was the GOPs fault. Lol such a lazy article.

They claim Republicans have been cutting back polling location “to suppress the black vote”. My investigation says it was probably because voter turnout has been trending downward for years and there were polling stations that were way under utilized before.

Better keep ‘em minorities suppressed!
“But people were forced to wait hours to vote on Tuesday in part because for several years, the state has systematically closed polling places in communities with large and growing Black and Latino populations. “
It’s been a few years since I lived there so things change. I am glad they don’t just restrict it to designated locations anymore. That was really hard if you worked far from where you lived, etc.

I live in Harris county. I had no line at all because I voted early...Texas actually has very accessible voting in my experience. This article is misleading and us written with such prejudgment that it should not be taken seriously. There were certainly issues on election day but its something Harris county officials need to look into instead of the social media world to just scream "omg Texas is so racist because huffpost said so!"
“Good ole GOP”

Here is what is funny. In Texas it is up to the the counties to administer the voting platforms. The cities/counties that had a problem with long lines are all Blue. I’m in a red country with a large population and I had no line.
