My current job I make 150k plus a 20% bonus and an annual cost of living raise anywhere from 2-3.5%. Have been in my current position about a year. I’m interviewing with a startup and the range has a 40k difference from the lowest to highest point. It’s also pre-seed and comes with equity, and health, 401k benefits. It’s a director of sales role so I would eventually be recruiting and managing a team along with building the processes and strategy. What would you consider a fair compensation package? When I negotiated my comp, all my discussions were around me being a junior and I only accepted my comp for that reason (would not have accepted if I was step above junior since it was low). Negotiations happened with HR, but my offer letter and documents never mention junior (but I have proof from HR saying I am a junior).
