Crazy experience today. We went to Rosarito for the weekend from San Diego. My boy got way too drunk & lost his wallet. We got back to US in a bus & they didn’t even check his ID cus he was passed out

He got very lucky. For all the budget increases CBP has gotten over the last decade, I’d like to think this is impossible.

Citizen can go in and out with just driver license. It was true then and was still true now. You will get profile from now and then but nothing special. Just spend a few extra minutes to an hour while they go check their systems.

We went passed border by accident and came back with just driver license. My friend, who’s a citizen, can came in with his driver license. I was a green card holder and can’t come back with just my driver license. So I had to wait at border for my friend to get my gc and bring me back. That was in 2004 and we were both Asian.

Crossed border multiple times with friends for party during Bush and Obama administration. My citizen friends always breeze through. Those with green card or on visa sometimes took longer for us.

My SO and I drove from San Diego to Azirona border around the river and met an immigration check point. My SO was an international student and I was a citizen already. We were held in our car for a couple of hours to check my SO status because we don’t have documents with us. It was in the middle of no where. And we were traveling from US to another US place. That was in 2011.

Just cross the border recently with car. Took less than 5 mins with the agent. Show US passport, say hi and get out. Of course, the line was hours long.

Just some of my experience.

My wife got a job that requires us to relocate to San Diego. We have never lived there and know little about the city. We are planning to rent. We stayed in a hotel in little Italy and really loved the vibe there, but it’s too expensive for us. Are there other neighborhoods with similar vibes - restaurants, bars, lively, good for walking, clean, safe, young, diverse and accessible that are more affordable? Please share recommendations. How much should we reasonably budget to rent a 2bd/2bath?

Question for anyone who might know - it appears to me Rasmussen releases a poll every week day or close to that, but day to day their margins swing three percent or more, which I think is outside the margin of error (can’t speak for every single poll). How is that kind of change possible from day to day?
