Curious if all forms have been using “virtual” EAs and if so, how long before the “old” EA model is obsolete?

Great question. I don’t see the traditional EA model dying any time soon. The need for operational and even strategically minded EAs at the highest c suite levels is greater than even. A virtual or even AI (artificial intelligence) assistant model won’t cut it.

Agree with the above. I know of one virtual EA to a CEO, but she wasn’t virtual before he took this new position. It seems to work out fine for them, but given his constant travel, even if she was based in the HQ, she’d still be ‘virtual’.

like

Tech, VC, law firms & boutique accounting firms seem to still value the traditional EA, but Big 4 Accounting is definitely moving towards going completely virtual.

Yes, I work for a Big Four and they are definitely trying to remove as many on site EAs as possible.

Our company is shopping around for anti-virus and anti-malware solutions, and encountering companies who “will not redline.” We’ve tried 3 vendors, and the only one who redlined quoted 5x what others have quoted. Some of it has to do with how the biz team is presenting, but has anyone else run into this? I’ve not seen another industry where an outright refusal to redline exists, let alone one where negotiating legal terms costs 5x!

I’ve practiced litigation in DC for about 5+ years at a larger plaintiffs’ firm, and am considering a switch to a defense firm. Is there any insight to how many billable hours this would require, and how much time that would actually be? For reference, the firm has a 1900 billable hour requirement and the partner said I would have “no problem” fulfilling that based on the work they have.

Hi everyone! I have been in my current role as an EA at a financial institution for about a year and a half now. I would love to find a 100% remote role as a mid level EA at a company with an awesome work culture. I think I’m ready to be challenged again, I find myself bored in my current role… I’m open to any industry but would love to get into tech. If anyone knows of any openings I would really appreciate it! I’m located on the East coast currently. TIA

My boss (exec director) and I need to come up with a schedule strategy. We work in a hybrid setting, 1-2 days in office, the rest remote. As you all know, the days fill up quickly with travel, meetings and requests internal, external, new partners etc. Fridays are usually off limits to schedule anything unless it’s super important or really no way to work around it. have you seen something, created or implemented a strategy/guideline that would free up more time? I know saying no more would help
