Curious if anyone else here have a side project that’s brining some extra income. I build and grow niched job boards and each generates $2k to $3k monthly, and it’s pretty hands off. What are you doing for like side projects?

I teach social dances like Line Dancing to various ages, from youth to senior. I mostly use old school music because it seems people like that more. I am trying to find a way to reach out to churches. I taught dances at 2 events that asked me to stay and DJ'd. That was fun.

That sounds awesome! I’m always looking for ways to leverage data analytics for passive income. Lately, I’ve been exploring ways to monetize data storytelling, build dashboards, and use AI-driven insights—whether through freelance consulting, niche analytics tools, or even creating data-focused content.

Your job board model is really interesting! Are you using data analytics to optimize job postings, track conversions, or automate anything? I’d love to hear more about how you scale and manage it!

I’m currently a Grade 11 at Cisco. With the recent pay structure changes my annual comp will be $150k + 12% bonus. I live in a large metro area in the middle of the US. I’m looking to move around the company so that I can make commission but I don’t want to be an account manager. Can anyone tell me if there are Customer Success Managers, etc positions that manage customers post sale and have a similar range base as me with commission plans? I’m just trying to understand income potential.

Reading posts here it seems as engineers in the US get's atleast $100k, people with 4-5 YOE in SWE seems to have ~$250K. Working in Sweden my base pay is $50k, bonus per year of $5k and I usually have to work overtime making my salary in total at a maximum $70k. I have 4 YOE and also work as SWE. Sweden has a insanely high tax rate (employee tax is 33% below 56k, 50% over $56k). There's also employers tax, and highly taxed fuels, food, clothes, which ends up in total paying around in 80% tax.
