$22-$32/hour in the Triangle. Most nannies in the Triangle are paid ~$4200 a month. Depends on needs, number of kids, etc. But just be wary that the most engaging, qualified, knowledgeable nannies will decline jobs that pay less than $20/hour. If there’s PTO and other benefits, it’s understandable to pay on the lower end of the scale, but if benefits aren’t offered m, then most expect the higher end of that range. Good luck! :) Join the FB pages to look for a nanny if you haven’t already!
Really depends on the area of Raleigh as it is quite big. My kids went to a church based full time preschool and it is currently about 860 a month, Raleigh address but close to garner. Ab 25 mins from downtown Raleigh. They are hard to find though, with that price tag the wait list can be super long! Typically is more around 1200-1400 a month for kids in my experience. (My second kiddo is going into 1st grade now).
I’m in Durham, but daycare and nanny are different things and have different goals. Daycare varies on age and tiers of daycare but averages around $1250/mo. Nannies can run $15-25/hr based on experience. Nannie’s are more expensive, but that’s because you’re getting one on one care (or one on two care etc if you have multiple kids), and in your own house.
My wife and I started our son with Nannie’s the past few years due to Covid and will be starting him at a daycare this month. We liked having him at home but our nanny has been inconsistent and it’ll be nice to have him around more kids his age etc.
I toured 12 daycares in Raleigh/Cary. All for full-time infant care and none were church-affiliated (tend to be cheaper, but usually part time too). They range $1500-2000/mo. Prices goes down a little as you age into 1-year old, and then 2-year old, etc. Infant is always the most expensive due to low student-teacher ratios.
A nanny by comparison appears to be no less than $20-25/hour and most are more if you want experience & education. Also benefits, etc. We did not go down this route but follow a Facebook group where caregivers post their rates. “Triangle Nannies and Babysitters” You can also look into nanny shares.
