Generally curious about this years incoming batch of undergrads. What is your role and starting salary? Lots of HR laws ( CA, NY) and inflation this year so curious to see if people were able to use this to their advantage etc.

Was hired at small firm in 2020 (8 people including 3 attorneys) and now have grown incredibly and expected to do very well this year and next 5. What’s best way to renegotiate contract? As managing attorney, Firm is offering ok base plus discretionary bonus tied to specific tasks but no bonus based on work I produce or profit share. How is comp for managing attorney usually structured?

My boyfriend and I make 200K combined and live in NJ. We have $1000 in monthly car payments combined. That’s all we owe. Our credit scores are in the 800s. We have 50K to put down on a home. 2020 grad M&A/PE Associate in LCOL area thinking about moving to a ECVC/M&A boutique. I generally like the work I do and the people I work with, but I really don’t like the hours and the constant late nights and weekends. Currently on pace for 2250. Boutique I have been eyeing has billable hour requirement of 1500-1600 and comes with a 20-25% paycut. Is this a stupid idea and should I grind it out until I can move in house? Will this ruin my opportunities down the road?
