In the current environment, i highly doubt you’ll get a transfer or an opportunity with less than a years exp. The most ideal is an experienced senior from audit. Even then we are still mostly looking for people with FDD experience. I just wouldn’t hire someone with so little experience at this point. India is more than capable or doing associate level work and we hired so much this past year.
I say this as a FDD sr manager.
Agree with above - if you want to switch I would aggressively apply to regional and National firms NOW. Big 4 is really just looking for experienced FDD people at the moment due to all the hiring in the past year
Ask first and don’t be passive about your intentions. Say “I want to do TAS as soon as possible” in a more polite fashion. If they drag their feet then just leave after you get a year of experience.
