AA1: you are on the burnout path. It is going to burn you to the ground if you are not careful. The time it takes to recover from true burnout is lengthy.

I don't. I pick firms that have no a-hole rules! You can too!

How do you know prior to joining? I’m trying to get out of a toxic environment and want to ensure i go to a no A-hole firm!

Yes

Some of us aren’t even well compensated - we’re just chumps!

Hi Friends,
Me and my girlfriend both live in the same city, working from home, living with our respective families.

Before covid and wfh, we were in gurgaon and we used to go to each other's places to have some "private time"

It looks like a distant luxury now.
Any ideas of what can be done? Anyone facing a similar issue who got any resolution?

My family and I have been looking to move to an island. My spouse works remote and can relocate at any time. My firm has an office on said island, but they don’t pay me enough to live there. I would have to ask for a raise and to be relocated. I love my firm and the Partners that I work for, but I’m thinking of applying to other places that offer a more livable salary for the location. Would you just talk to the Partners at your current firm or look elsewhere?

If you follow the cryptocurrency market, or even have been just taking an interest lately, with the Bitcoin "halvening," you should check out Pi.

If you haven't heard of Pi, it's a new cryptocurrency (like Bitcoin), developed by a bunch of Stanford PhDs. What makes it really interesting is that you can still mine this coin, using just the processing power of your phone, unlike just about every other coin out there. (Contd)

What would you say is the difference between a billable hour target vs. minimum? I feel like some firms boast about not having a “minimum” but the expectation is that you to exceed this target which just makes it a minimum.
