I wouldn't jump ship for an $11k bump unless the future there looked much brighter than where I'm currently at.
Your best bet is to weight pros vs cons & most importantly PRAY ABOUT IT!
At the end of the day, leave out emotions and take decisions from your personal and professional development perspective. Do whatever is right for you without any guilt so long as you deal with everything professionally
What if you start having issues at the new job? Will it be worth another 11k. Remember money doesn’t buy happiness. Just saying.
see if they'll match (:
Weigh ur options
What if the other job, you have problems with someone?
$11k is it much, dont know about the other benefits [health care, 401k....
Possibly try to counter offer to ur current employer. Just be ready to leave.
Change can be good however is it worth the risk?
Also, dont know ur tenure with ur current job. Room for advancement?
So many questions...
Do a pros/cons of each job.
I was in a similar position, i took the lower paying because there is plenty of room for growth whereas the other paid more however id be stuck in that position.
Ask friends/family for advice.
The choice is yours.
Best of luck on your decision...
No you're not crazy. Money is important but it's not everything. You need to weigh all the factors, not just base comp.
If you're happy with your current team and boss, know that many people aren't. It would be hard for me personally to trade that for an unknown.
But don't let loyalty to the team or guilt ove leaving impact your decision either. At the end of the day, you need to do what's best for you.
