Currently in a Presales/Solutions Consultant role and starting to think about the long-term path. I’m considering a pivot into Key Account Management (KAM) or Customer Success (CSM).
For those who have made this move:
How did the shift from "technical selling" to "relationship/retention" feel?
Did you find the compensation structure better or worse?
Do you miss the "thrill of the hunt" in Presales, or is the long-term strategy of KAM more rewarding?

Has anyone successfully moved out of claims into underwriting? I have been doing worker’s compensation claims for about 9 years now as an adjuster. I would really like to get into underwriting but have not had any success so far. What are some other roles I can transition to?

My old employer asked me if I wanted to come back to the company as a manager. The pay will likely be much better and the position holds more responsibility than I’ve had before, so overall it would be a step up. The issue is I left the company because of an abusive manager who constantly put me down and made me feel like I wasn’t doing anything right. If I come back I’d be working under her again. 28th Jan(after 2 days) is my joining date in one of the organisation.. meanwhile I get a call from one of captive company for final managerial discussion scheduled for today itself.
I doubt they can release offer in just 2 days if all good, having said that tomorrow is holiday.
