Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.
Finally found THE one, after over a year of searching and trying out at least 5 different ones!
A nice comfortable office chair.

My criteria: mesh seat and back, arms, headrest
I tried cheap ones from Amazon. Expensive, second hand gaming chairs. Tried HM Aeron (second hand) and while I didn't like the bulk and the general design, I was sold on the mesh seating. I wanted to get the ErgoChair 2 from autonomous, but it doesn't have mesh seat.
AMA.

8 months at the kitchen table gang checking in ✊🏼
How have you survived 8 months at the dining table? Just buy an autonomous desk and a $200 monitor and put it in your office/room and call it done.
I am in 600sqft apt in Chicago as well, here is my set up, frankly I don’t have tv, so my desk is in that corner in my living room!
8 months at the kitchen table 🙋🏼♀️ just bought a two bedroom condo... Now to furnish the office!
I have survived 8 months at my kitchen table.
I am a survivor and will continue to be unless someone drops some real "small apartment/tiny home" suggestions up in here.
They sell all kinds of desks- how small do you need it to be?
Do you have another space you’re looking at carving out? Or are you wanting to turn your dining room into an office? And does that mean get rid of table or use it as a desk but with a better setup, chair etc.? (Some dining room tables make great desks, add a rolling cart for work supplies, etc.
