What firms are providing either stipends or slowing expenses to set up home office? Trying to define policy for my boutique.
Home Office Chair thread. What office chair you bought for WFH? Brand, model, price? Pros and Cons after using?
I've come to realize that I spend a lot of time sitting cross legged when I work and the home office chair I have is too narrow to accommodate. Anyone have a great home chair that works for crossed legged sitting?
Ladies - does anyone have an office chair that’s both ergonomic and aesthetically pleasing? I’m totally redecorating my office and really don’t want an ugly chair but all the ones with best support seem to be 🥲
If House of Lies was accurate, it would have been Kristen Bell sitting in her home office in PJ’s on a three hour solution call
Now that employees are going to WFH for a long time, what are your firms doing to help setup home office. Can you buy chair, desk, monitor or anything ergonomic to help employees
Best affordable (under $250) standing desk for someone who’s 6’2? Ideally electric, seen a ton of options online but not sure which ones are actually good quality
Smart people who know about technology: 🙏🏼 I want to get 11.5-14 inch monitor to add to my (1) laptop and (2) second monitor. I’m worried about the monitor having a high “processor” and slowing down all my programs (including the program I use to login to my office desktop). Can someone point me to a monitor that may work?
*My MD, with his video on, in his palatial home office*: “Hope everyone is staying safe and sane...” *Me pretending my camera is broken*:
Does anyone know if Accenture will reimburse me for ergonomic things? Such a keyboard, laptop stand, etc
Best place to buy an comfy at home office chair? Want to go and try them out rather than buying online. Low cost, but comfortable, is ideal.
I’m working for a big 4 and have a suggestion to encourage folks to return to the office. I find I’m more productive overall if I spend a few days a week in the actual home office. However…I don’t want to pay a couple hundred a month on parking. How about reimbursing parking? That would be a valuable perk…versus free bagels and garbage food.
My home office had a makeover and I upgraded to a standing desk! I now have a box of books and college textbooks ready to donate. Is there anywhere I could take them to donate considering... South Fl
Is EY requiring people to move back to their home office city/areas by September? What does your firms hybrid model look like? What policies are changing for y’all? Is anyone giving stipend/expenses paid for WFH?
Anyone here with the flexidesk? Looking to get a standing desk for under $400 that won’t fall apart when I look at it
Any of my fellow fishies head to their home state / get out of the city and work remote during all this craziness? If so, when do you think you’ll go back? I’m not keen on the prospect of heading back to the open office...
Wait so entry level salary is 25% higher in SF and cost of living adjustment for relocating in 2nd year is 16-20%? This is so fucked up EY.
Campus hire. New to investing/retirement savings. I know it’s important to “max out my 401(k)” so I selected my pre-tax 401k contribution to the % that my employer matches to on my account. Is that al
Surely you mean ‘raise health with’. C’mon guys.
Has anyone made the switch from consultant to Project Manager in industry? How was the transition? Moving onto a 3rd round for a PM role, haven’t had formal PM training but they said the next interview will be PM specific questions. What’s the best way to prepare?
Bonvoy brilliant or business ink preferred? I like the flexibility of UR but seems like I would rack up Marriott points quicker with the bonus category
Hello! I have a two part question: 1) is it worth it to obtain an SHRM specialty credential if I don’t have the broader SHRM certification? 2) has anyone gotten the People Analytics or Talent Acquistion credential? If so, how valuable was it from a learning perspective? Do you feel it significantly contributed to your knowledge in either area? Thank you!
In the 16 years since I was a summer clerk, profits per equity partner have more than doubled. The associate comp. scale has increased 20k in the same period. People wonder why associates are leaving for other jobs….
Is it a bad idea to look for a new role before Christmas bonus season? This market makes me want to start looking but it feels shortsighted to leave money on the table.
Leaving my firm in a few weeks for another B4 and couldn’t be more checked out. Still playing a large role on the project I’m on though. Suggestions on how to stay focused and engaged on client work?
Interviewed two weeks ago and still haven’t heard back. The recruiter isn’t responding to my follow up email. Bad sign?
I’m a senior strategist applying senior strategy positions and not getting traction. At this point I think I must be doing something wrong. Hiring managers - what are your red flags at this level? What do you need to see to seal the deal. Thank you!
Forget Glassdoor. The government publicly reports the salaries of H1B visa employees. http://h1bdata.info/index.php?em=&job=&city=&year=All
Interviewed by a FP&A director for a SFA position and they asked me my salary expectations. I couldn’t dodge the question so i gave a range between 110-115k (where i’m currently at as S3 in big4 advisory). They said highest base for the position is around 105k and total comp (base+annual bonus) would likely be 110k. The role focuses on top-line P&L and is pure FP&A (no JE/acctg responsibilities) and good WLB, so i think it’s a good opportunity. If they do give an offer, should i still negotiate?
Some days I get so stressed and can't help but think how bad this job is for my mental health, and I lean towards leaving. But then I can't help but think about how "the grass isn't always greener" 😞
Would a manager bring a person to a project and purposely sets him/her up for failure but pretends to be nice and enjoy the moment?
