Hi all,
I’m looking to relocate to Seattle. Does anyone know if any of the Big 4 are still recruiting campus hires to start in Summer/Fall 2023? I’m open to either Audit or Tax, but I have internship experience in Tax.
I applied and received an offer at a Big 4 in San Francisco (campus hire), but I’ve decided Seattle is the better fit for me as it will be closer to my hometown and family in Vancouver.
Thanks!

I'm looking for a job... Please help...
Hi all,
Do firms match offers from other Big 4s for campus hires? I’ve received a campus offer from both KPMG and EY. I’m more interested in the EY offer, but they are paying 3k less than KPMG.
Would it be a bad move to let them know about the other offer and try negotiating? I feel it wont make a difference in the long run, but at the same time I don’t want to leave any money on the table if possible.
Thanks!

Certain things you can do: (1) give yourself some grace and be kind to yourself as you are not alone in this stage of your career journey (2) to make you feel a bit better, there are a lot of smart folks in the same boat as you and facing the brunt of current market conditions (3) brush up your resume according to current trends, work towards up-skilling missing traits in this downtime (4) do not stop networking with people or recruiters you know who can really help (5) meditation and brisk walking can release your anxiety and depressed feelings..take advantage of nature around you and spend time with people who makes you happy (6) say one thing to yourself every morning that you are all worth it and you can do it. Just worrying will make things worse so start being positive and do not give up.
I've been there and understand the feeling. Whether you are a person of faith or not RSM gave some great practical advice for mitigating the stress and anxiety. I would add that as much as it may hurt at first to acknowledge there is always an element of this that is out of your control. When I came to terms with that it was actually freeing and eased the pressure. I did what I can do and found peace about the things that I cannot control.
At least you know it's gonna happen, as opposed to "You're fired - clean out your desk."
As a last resort AWM tax and AWM SALT tax are usually hiring as it is a huge endless grind. AWM is asset wealth management. So it’s partnership tax compliance. Would not recommend long term but you can grind out a couple years and put it on your resume.
Another option is go back to school get a degree in something you want to do vs you have to do. So instead of a layoff it looks like you decided to get an advanced degree.

I would talk to everyone you know, regardless of the industry and try to see if they know of any job opportunities at their company. The best way to get into a company sometimes is a referral. more companies are using AI to screen resumes so that can be a challenge. Work connections.
Talk to anyone and everyone and ask for a referral! It’s the only way people are really getting hired right now
Make sure you write a cover letter with each application and make sure the important buzz words are in the cover letter that align with the job description.
That way the AI rediculous robot sees a match so a human can receive your candidacy.
