Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.
Any tips when preparing for CSCP?

Hi all,
I’m looking to relocate to Seattle. Does anyone know if any of the Big 4 are still recruiting campus hires to start in Summer/Fall 2023? I’m open to either Audit or Tax, but I have internship experience in Tax.
I applied and received an offer at a Big 4 in San Francisco (campus hire), but I’ve decided Seattle is the better fit for me as it will be closer to my hometown and family in Vancouver.
Thanks!

Hi all,
Do firms match offers from other Big 4s for campus hires? I’ve received a campus offer from both KPMG and EY. I’m more interested in the EY offer, but they are paying 3k less than KPMG.
Would it be a bad move to let them know about the other offer and try negotiating? I feel it wont make a difference in the long run, but at the same time I don’t want to leave any money on the table if possible.
Thanks!

Also if your new company is getting services from a decent size firm, you can ask to be included in their cpe webinars and such.
Don’t even have to ask. You just sign up for all the big firms webcast emails
Likely if it’s a large company that is hiring you into the finance function and qualifications are listed as a requirement of the job spec.
There are lots of free CPE courses online these days and most big companies offer some sort of training that likely meets all your non accounting CPE.
I have never asked to be reimbursed for an AICPA membership. However both companies I have worked for in industry reimbursed me for license renewal and CPE fees.
Most of my CPE is free. The big 4 publish their cpe for free, as does BDO and GT. Also cpaacademy.org is good too.
Definitely didn’t know this since I work for a smaller alliance firm, thank you!
My industry job pays for my CPA renewals, CPE subscription, and has offered AICPA membership (although I've never understood the benefit of AICPA). I also get a lot of free CPE, but I like being able to pick the topics, which is why I asked them for a subscription.
Before I stayed in public, I interviewed at a variety of small and larger private industry places and I always asked what their position/policy was on continuing ed and CPE as well as renewals. Most of the positions preferred the CPA as qualification so my opinion is it would be expected but always good to ask. As the post above says there are a lot of free courses out there for CPE.
AICPA membership is optional not required so that will most likely not get paid out
Since you get that now, you should at least ask about it. If you're moving into a position that needs a CPA, then they probably will.
If job description says "CPA required" or "CPA preferred" then yes, more likely than not they will reimburse licensing fees and CPE.
My last company paid for CPE but not the license fees
Deloitte reimburses for CPA license renewal and AICPA membership which is required by the firm.
