Hi all,
Do firms match offers from other Big 4s for campus hires? I’ve received a campus offer from both KPMG and EY. I’m more interested in the EY offer, but they are paying 3k less than KPMG.
Would it be a bad move to let them know about the other offer and try negotiating? I feel it wont make a difference in the long run, but at the same time I don’t want to leave any money on the table if possible.
Thanks!

10k is peanuts in the grand scope of a 40 yr career. Go where you feel will be a better long term fit for you. Trust me, the money will follow.
Thanks for the advice!!
Agreed w/ above - in the grand scheme of things $10k is nothing. I’ve left $15k in the table recently but the role I’m in I’ll be able to advance to Director in 3-5 years and make much more than the $15k I’m missing out on now
Very True, Thank you 🙏🏽
I left 10k on the table and ended up getting promoted and getting crazy big bonuses and the 401k match was higher than expected and the health care was awesome. No regrets. If it's a better place to be it's with it
I would go to the job you prefer!
Base compensation is only one deciding factor. Which opportunity do you prefer? Which one has opportunity for growth, how does the bonus and benefits compare. We are only talking about a couple of hundred dollars in take home pay so it’s not a big deal.
“We are only talking about a couple of hundred dollars “ this is a major 🔑
What about other benefits?
benefits are basically the same, base is the only difference
Have you asked for the different as a sign on bonus? You could also try to negotiate more vacation days if applicable.
Ask $5K sign on
Yes, 10K is nothing
i left a 155k offer (series A start up) for a 100k one to move to kpmg as a senior, hopefully the sox and sec reporting experience i'll gain will be worth it, otherwise 🤡 🤡 🤡
i think you made a mistake my guy
