That's great. I've had very similar things happen. Sometimes they just don't want to believe something until they hear it from everybody. If retail teaches us anything, it's that it takes all kinds.

I worked at a food stand in a mall, had a lady come up and ask me various questions about the food we sold, and finally she asked me about the price for the size she wanted. Full belly laugh in my face before she just walked away 😭 It's not my fault!

This happens more than people admit. Sometimes it is tone, sometimes it is bias, sometimes it is just customers wanting confirmation. It is frustrating, but the fact your coworker repeated the same answer shows you were right. At that point all you can do is laugh internally and move on.

Customer service really keeps you humble. It’s wild how the same answer can feel different depending on who says it. At least now you know your explanation works sometimes it just takes a second voice for it to land.

😂 gotta love it, right? But you know what, I'd take that interaction over most of the ones I have with customers. At least they were polite. Somewhat.
