Dear Partners - just because you have to be seen adding value doesn’t mean the value is justified. Too many times partners will give feedback that doesn’t move the needle because they feel like ‘they have to give feedback’ otherwise they aren’t adding value. Sometimes the best feedback is just affirming that the working team is on the right track and there’s minimal material changes, and I respect that as a partner you can admit that in your eyes significant changes aren’t needed. Thank you!

I’m going to need you to rewrite all of the above… and it’s due Sunday night for review.

I got once the feedback from a partner that i give too few feedback to the team. My argument was exactly yours. Was not accepted.

Well said!

Thanks for this

In Big 4, feedback is required. Always.

Funny example: previous job I was a fractional controller at a small advisory firm. Client asked for some specific ad hoc information and I provided it timely. The fractional CFO (my advisory firm owner) literally took my file, added a bit more formatting (background color to cells and changed the borders a bit) and resent it to the client. The client literally asked what's the difference? LOL
