Do any creatives work with attorneys? I’ve had some repeat issues in my freelance career —non payment, getting my credits removed, not being able to access high res files of projects I worked on, people on teams I’ve left trash talking me after I’m gone, the works.

From what I understand these are reasonably common issues but I’m introspecting and wondering how to protect myself better from this in the future.

I’m an in-house designer. My company decided to offer social media marketing packages to our clients. Today they asked me to take full ownership of that outside social media marketing on top of my current job duties.

I expressed a need for a promotion or raise to compensate for the major increase in responsibility, a responsibility that is not currently in my description.

I've been at my company since 2016, and am now a design consultant - speaking to customers directly and creating custom artwork and designs for them. I know I'm underpaid (50k/year in the SF Bay Area) but I thought the benefits and stability were worth it.
