Lots of companies who have that ONE guy who manages the legacy system are sh!ting their pants that the 'hit by a bus' scenerio is about to go down.

Do you get the feeling that there is a higher image promotion of women/minority people in Tech?I have seen way to many pictures from major tech companies that promote far more women/minorities than white males in their marketing materials.Wouldn't be better if we hired the best people no matter what the race/gender is?I know some companies are not publishing any gender/race stats but you cant't really demand a 50/50 ratio.Also there is no coincidence that most execs is some companies are British. I applied for few SA roles at AWS after getting the SAA certificate and some badges like the “WAF” and “Advanced Migration”. I also optimized my resume recently trying to match what AWS would look for, but I did not get any 1st call or screening interview!

Where does the salary ceiling come in for tech consultants that don't want to become managers/lead teams?

PDM at Deloitte and recently told my current PM that I receive an offer to be on a different project and would like to rolloff my current project. They told me they have to check their WOA before they can confirm my last date. Is this a legit reason or something they made up just so I can’t leave?

I work heavily in AWS and am looking to learn another cloud platform. I have zero knowledge of azure and gcp and would like input on which to learn. Azure would make sense since its the second largest in terms of market share, but GCP seems far more interesting and technically challenging with things like Kubernetes and BigQuery.

I work in a sucky IBM cic, making $54k. It’s a full time job with regular benefits and vacation etc, it’s working with government clients. The job isn’t what I applied for & constantly changes. I don’t like that, but I’m a full time employee which is “stable employment”. Btw, I’m in the DC area.

I just got hired for a government contract through Accenture for a Business Analyst role. Pay is $65 per hour. 3 year contract. Benefits too. No PTO. Holidays off with pay, after 90 days.
