Check local credit union specifically DCU.org
Have you ever had an Amex in your home country? That helped me here, Amex had no issue giving me a card to start building credit history. Bank account was not that painful either, bring utility bill and your BCG contract and it should be fine. I got chase and I’m still with them.
BCG has a partnership with HSBC that can help with this — interest rate will be worse, but can help establish credit
I don’t understand. I came as a student with an F visa, 0 credit history, and could open an account and get a credit card on literally my first day in the US (with Bank of America)
Banks just need your money. If you are applying for a credit card thats tricky but doable.
There’s some AML/OFAC restrictions that may cause a flag, specially for the online/digital accounts. Go to a local bank and try to open it there.
Thanks all! I guess that rules out opening with high yield accounts?
