Honestly, i's prefer a hand written appreciation card etc. I work at a golf resort and if they offer gifts that need to be used here it deflated me. I work here 5/7 work over my contracted hours, id prefer not to spend additional time here
I’ve never appreciated it. It is somewhat of a sweet gesture but it’s the bare minimum. My work gives $2 coupons/vouchers for appreciation, and we have to use them in store. It doesn’t even cover lunch. Each time I get one they act like it’s the best and biggest form of showing their appreciation
The old can I have a raise? No but there’s a pizza party next week oh and can you make the pizza for it

I’m always grateful for the time they take when gifting me something from the store. But sometimes I do feel like they can be more creative with our bonuses.
How old are we?
Yes! To me, a bonus/acknowledgment is great…but if it’s a monetary one, then I would prefer cash or a higher paycheck for that week. My store often gives out snacks or drinks for that kind of thing.
I think gift cards from said business of employment is a bit tacky. Sometimes it's a slap in the face. A gift card from somewhere else is often a better and less offensive act to be honest. It shows integrity as an owner of said business. I was gifted a gift card and $100 bucks cash from a business that understood my worth to their establishment.
