Do you change the default font in your emails? Is it seen as obnoxious or actually more professional to use something other than the default font? I feel like lots of attorneys at my firm use a different font. I’m wondering if I’m missing some nuance, or if it’s just personal preference.

I do not use email. Instead, I have my legal assistant create my messages from letters cut out of newspapers and magazines.

This is the way. Haven’t looked back once since I started doing this and now I never have to worry about what people think of the font I use

I’m in house and my company has their own font we use. But I always thought it was weird so i try to avoid using it sometimes lol

I use the same font but I do change my text to dark blue rather than black, since it's easier on my eyes.

👀

Our outlook defaults to Arial, which I hate, so I always switch to TNR 11 pt.

Only psychotic bc it's not 12 pt !

Currently a Wealth Advisor for Citi but I honestly hate it here with a passion it’s the worst company I’ve ever worked for in my life and I’ve been in Wealth Management in the banking channel for over a decade. Series 7, Series 63, Life, CFP, ChFC, and soon to have my MBA with a focus in Mergers & Acquisitions. I’m look to enter another area of Finance at this point instead of starting over somewhere else from scratch, but not sure what direction to go. Interested in Investment Banking or M&A.

Considering obtaining a CFE certification. Can anyone share their experience vs experience obtaining CPA? I’m already a CPA. I just want a comparison of study time requirement and difficulty of exam.

I'm a third year plaintiff's employment law attorney and I'm looking to move to defense, preferably still in employment law. I received an offer from a midsize firm that primarily focuses on PI with little-to-no employment law practice, so I'll have a bit of a learning curve. Offer is $90k, billable hours of 2100. Is this reasonable? I'm dead-set on leaving my current job, and this would be a $20k pay increase - which makes me believe I'm leaning towards taking it for those reasons only.

Negotiating a settlement. I’m at $10k, opposing counsel is at $20k. My client won’t go higher than $15k. OC has come down to 17.5k and says his client won’t budge from that. Do I offer 12.5k so we can hopefully meet in the middle at 15k? Is that how the settlement game is played? Seems dumb we can’t just say let’s meet in the middle now and be done with this. (I’m a first year, first time negotiating a settlement on my own and I don’t want to screw this up!)
