Hi Fishes, I am considering a Senior Engineer role with Alteryx (previously Hyper Anna) Sydney. If it's not too much trouble, I was hoping if anyone here could share their experience of working at Alteryx Sydney in terms of Culture, work life balance, politics, work pressure, people, Leadership and product. Thanks.

Sometimes, absolutely. It’s just one thing after another, and it gets to be so much. I’m not typically emotional, but sometimes it just adds up. Would you say it really was no reason at all, though? Even small things can pile up.

Yes I suppose it’s the small things piling up!!
There are times when I'll feel very brittle about things, usually when things at work just create a lot of stress. I'm usually able to catch myself before I actually break down in front of people. At times I'll go into the bathroom and calm myself down, and remind myself that I'm letting things get to me way too much.

Yes sometimes you just can’t help it!
I know this feeling very well. You’re probably burnt out and masking it by staying busy and doing just enough to keep yourself out of trouble. I also know that when you find yourself in this headspace, finding something new seems impossible. This will keep you stuck and spiralling, chipping away at your self-confidence. Please take a moment to reflect and figure out some small steps to get yourself to a better place. Life is too short to be in this kind of situation!

Yes I find I do this a lot when I’m deep into my burnout! Really need to sort it out!
First, do not discount the fact that you have needs. You may not realize in your headspace, but your body will always tell you that you have some unmet needs (manifesting as overwhelm or anxiety; for me it's hives). Take some time to think about that. Then take a small joyful action. Go for a bike ride, call a friend to vent and laugh, go get your most favorite treat/meal. Pamper yourself until you feel rejuvenated. I'm sure the unmet needs will make themselves visible and you'll be able to address them, then maintain. You're completely worth it!!

Yes, all the time. Had to go in the basement and pretend I was looking for an old file.
