MD1 that would also be my concern. I am sure there are good ones in the mix but it’s not the best by a long shot if I had to guess (just due to probably lower rates the insurance would reimburse them)
Do I have a lawyer on call or on retainer? No….why would I? I don’t customarily find myself in need of legal representation.
But if I were suddenly detained for something (?), I do have a judge/lawyer friend I could call as I looked for a specialist.

Agree with some others. Generally “having” a lawyer is not a good sign. Unless you’re mega wealthy and your family office has one because you’re always transacting on “things,” etc.
There is a certain orange-shaded president that comes to mind when I think of someone who would say, “I’ll call my lawyer.” This is not a positive quality in my mind.
High profile folks especially those in the public eye have lawyers. They aren’t all like Diddy or the Orange guy. So I don’t view it as a negative per say.
I don’t but retained one for a work related matter a few years back (I wasn’t a Partner then).
I know several lawyers, both personally and professionally, but would not say I have a lawyer. The only time I’ve engaged one was for our wills.
Have a phone a friend option who focuses on financial matters/fraud that I would start with. No need to have one on retainer as I don’t typically engage in criminal activities.
Would it be possible for me to sue you? For punitive damages that you’re giving me. The people you work with and handle; I probably will sue them too.
